Penis: What is it for?

Can you really imagine humans evolving from dead bodies? Of course not, unless we are magical creatures who can be reborn from ashes or dust.

Reproduction is important to keep species alive. Plants, animals, microorganism and humans rely on reproduction to perpetuate their species. Without reproduction, humans would have been extinct millions of years ago. For this alone, we owe so much to our reproductive system.

For the males, their penis is the most often used part of their genitalia. It is usually called the man's best friend. However, many people out there are still unenlightened about how this particular member of the male genitalia works. This article hopes to shed some light for those who are not scientifically familiar with the function of man's favorite member.

The term "male genitalia" is usually used as a combined name for the penis and the testicles.

The penis has three major functions that we have listed below.

For Urinating - This is rather self-explanatory. The penis serves as an extension of the urethra, thus enabling males to urinate easy anywhere they want without spilling any urine.

For Sexuality - The penis, especially an erect penis has been known to give pleasure to both members of the various genders. However, in order to have an adequate erection, three conditions must be fulfilled. These are libido or lust; good inflow and outflow of blood; and the nerve supply must be functioning properly.

For Reproduction - This is the most important function of the male's favorite member. The function of reproduction starts on the moment a man's penis enters a woman's genitalia and deposit sperms in the woman's womb. This will result to conception of another individual thus aiding in the pro creation of man. With the active involvement of the male's member to the female's genitalia, we can be assured that the specie of humankind will not die out in this world.

The semen is propelled through the urethra by rapid muscular movements in its wall and ejected through the penis, on its way to the female egg-cell; to prevent the semen going the wrong way (to the bladder, which is closer by) the entry to the bladder is closed by a tiny sphincter at that very moment - that is the reason that ejaculation and urinating at the same time is impossible. Ejaculation is not called 'coming' for nothing: according to Mother Nature, the goal is reached the very moment the semen came and erection is not needed any further.

So there are the facts, take care of your reproductive anatomy. There is more to your penis than just being your shaft!
