Watch For Signs

How do you know when a woman has noticed you and wants your attention? This is a question that most men ask themselves when they suspect they are being scrutinized by a woman that they'd like to get to know. Sure, you can walk over and say hello to her, risking public rejection . But without understanding more of the signs women put out to let you know they're interested, a lot of guys would rather walk away than try to approach a woman who might not be interested in them. Women have lots of things they do to let a guy know he's caught their attention, but unfortunately most men don't have the key to understanding these signals.

We're going to give you some right here, so next time a woman's interested, you will know it.

First off, she'll look at you from across the room either very frequently or for several minutes. If you don't see her looking at anyone else in the room that much, it's a good bet she is looking at you because she's interested. Unless she just can't take her eyes off your rubber ducky shorts, it couldn't hurt to give her a smile of encouragement.

Second, if you see a woman actually smiling at you across a crowded room, and it happens more than once, this is a sign. Unless you have been staring at you and she is trying to break the awkwardness, her smiles to you are an invitation to come over and say hi. If you find that cutie looks at you from time to time while playing with her hair - curling it around her fingers, pushing it back from her face over and over, or throwing her head back to fling back her hair, she's trying to get you to notice her. Unless you see her doing this at every man in the place (that's pretty unlikely), a smile from you might make things a little clearer.

You may notice one woman who finds reasons to go back and forth by your table or where you are sitting. No, not the waitress! If you notice a girl goes past you to the bathroom over 10 times, chances are she's giving you a chance to notice her by strolling by. If a girl is smiling at you, crossing and uncrossing her legs, or bounces her foot up and down a little, chances are she's hoping you'll come by and she'll get a chance to meet you.

While none of these is a lock, honestly most of them are pretty likely. If the girl in question isn't smiling or looking at everyone in the place, but mostly at you, she has noticed you for some reason. Unless there is something very off about your appearance, she is interested. Consider this: in our culture, a lot of people still consider a woman is being very unladylike or fast if she approaches a man first. A woman won't want to be thought of in that way when first meeting you, so she has to give you signals. Also some women wouldn't mind approaching you and offering to buy you a drink, but they are also nervous of rejection - men's signs of interest aren't any easier to read by women than women's are by men.

You can always try walking casually by her and smiling at her this time. If she smiles back, you know that she is at least willing to be friendly, which is a good thing to know. So you might want to think of something casual to say when a girl is smiling at you for the third time across the room. Don't just ask her out or tell her "you're a hot babe". These are usually sure losers. You can start by smiling at her. If that seems comfortable, you can go over and tell her hello. Comment on something happening in the room - the band, the waiters, the price of the apples, whatever applies in a given situation. Unless she's very shy, she will comment back and before you know it, you're having a conversation instead of both of you going home wishing you had spoken to each other.

Remember, you can offer her your phone number if it feels awkward to ask for hers. Not many men do this, but it seems perfectly friendly. Sure, there's a chance she won't call, but there's also a chance she will.
